Super Bowl Weekend in Indianapolis!

Well, the big weekend is finally here! While the Colts may not be playing in the Super Bowl, Indianapolis is certainly excited to be the host city and its all anyone here is talking about. Last weekend, my friends and I checked out Super Bowl village downtown, and this weekend I think we'll return. We don't have tickets to the game or to any of the big events, but how can we pass up the opportunity to just enjoy the excitement of the city?

Downtown Indianapolis

Yes, I realize this picture is blurry, but I still felt like I should include it. It's of my husband kicking a field goal (he made it!) downtown last weekend at the NFL Experience

There's so much attention on our city (for once!), it's hard not to be just a little excited. Jimmy Fallon has been taping in Indy all week, and apparently even The Today Show is taping from downtown tomorrow morning. And this is the first time I've heard of multiple celebrity sightings in one day - I'm enjoying the flood of facebook status updates and tweets from fellow friends' about their run-ins with celebs down-town. While this may seem pathetic for those of you who live in NYC or Cali, we Hoosiers are not used to having celebs in our city! But in all seriousness, I hope everyone has a fun Super Bowl Sunday planned. And for those of you who are Giants or Patriots fans, good luck!

  4. How exciting. My hubby travels to Indy a lot - his company is based there (pretty sure I just gave away who he works for. He LOVES Indy. I do too, but I've only been there once. Glad you guys are having a hopping town for he Superbowl. I'm rooting for a tied game 0-0 and that somehow they can't finish, nor can they crown a champion. Can't stand either team, and especially dislike another Boston v. NY match up.
