New Orleans Picture Recap

Well the New Orleans trip was fabulous this past weekend. Plenty of family time at the rehearsal dinner and wedding, and there was plenty of sight seeing time interwoven throughout the weekend, as well. Here's a picture recap of the weekend...

Rehearsal dinner with my cousin, Hilary

Beignets at Cafe du Monde

There was live music all over the streets. These guys may not look it, but they are seriously talented!

People really are partying on Bourbon street 24/7

Live music at The Three Muses. I could have stayed here all night

The ceremony with my cousin and my aunt

Congratulations to my cousin, Brian, and his new wife, Andrea. Isn't her dress beautiful?!

The send-off at the end of the night - a second line parade with a brass band through the French Quarter. Never experienced anything like it. Absulutely amazing.

Off to the French Quarter!

Well, the weekend I've been waiting for is finally here - my hubby and I are off to New Orleans for a long weekend to celebrate my cousin's wedding! And surprisingly, neither one of us have ever been there. All I know is that we're staying in the French Quarter, the rehearsal dinner is at Broussard's, and the wedding and reception are at Latrobe's on Royal (anyone familiar with either one?)

We'll have several hours to ourselves prior to the wedding on Saturday as well as all day Sunday - any suggestions for places to visit, eat, drink, or just check out?? We're hoping to do as much as we can possibly fit in!

Wrap Front Sweater

This wrap front sweater from Nordstrom Rack is now on my wish list. I love how effortless it looks, yet the draping still makes it dressy and sophisticated. It's currently on sale for $74.97 (from $185) online at the Rack.

And on another note - did everyone watch the big game last night? It was quite the nail biter. Congrats to all you Giants fans! And more importantly, did you like Madonna's half-time show?

Super Bowl Weekend in Indianapolis!

Well, the big weekend is finally here! While the Colts may not be playing in the Super Bowl, Indianapolis is certainly excited to be the host city and its all anyone here is talking about. Last weekend, my friends and I checked out Super Bowl village downtown, and this weekend I think we'll return. We don't have tickets to the game or to any of the big events, but how can we pass up the opportunity to just enjoy the excitement of the city?

Downtown Indianapolis

Yes, I realize this picture is blurry, but I still felt like I should include it. It's of my husband kicking a field goal (he made it!) downtown last weekend at the NFL Experience

There's so much attention on our city (for once!), it's hard not to be just a little excited. Jimmy Fallon has been taping in Indy all week, and apparently even The Today Show is taping from downtown tomorrow morning. And this is the first time I've heard of multiple celebrity sightings in one day - I'm enjoying the flood of facebook status updates and tweets from fellow friends' about their run-ins with celebs down-town. While this may seem pathetic for those of you who live in NYC or Cali, we Hoosiers are not used to having celebs in our city! But in all seriousness, I hope everyone has a fun Super Bowl Sunday planned. And for those of you who are Giants or Patriots fans, good luck!
